Metamorphosis Blog Tour
March 14th ~ Smardy Pants Book Blog
Scarlett MacGregor has lived a very sheltered life courtesy of her over-the-top controlling parents. Having never been to a co-ed party, much less on a date, Scarlett has relied on her books, her music, and living vicariously through her best friend Evie to keep her sanity as she’s patiently awaited her freedom from their rule.
When Scarlett and Evie go away to college, Scarlett quickly meets Ashton, Dylan, and later, Mason, and is thrown into a crash course of like, love, and lust. With Evie’s help, she must figure out the difference in the three and which one she wants before she ends up without any of them.
Metamorphosis is the story of Scarlett’s transformation from a young, naive girl to a strong, mature young woman and her search for self-discovery and true love.
Recommended for readers 17+ due to sexual content and harsh language.
Excerpts from Metamorphosis by Erin Noelle
“You are breathtakingly beautiful, incredibly talented, obviously intelligent, and when I look into your eyes I see the most pure, untainted soul of anyone I have ever met. Your innocence and inexperience only increases your sexiness and sensuality. You, Scarlett Alexandria MacGregor, truly are an enigma.’”
The thumb that had been caressing my cheek moved to my bottom lip and I instinctively opened my mouth. I flicked my tongue over the tip of his thumb, tasting his sweet flesh, before drawing it into my mouth and sucking on it. Ash inhaled deeply and his eyes darkened to a stormy blue. He broke our stare and shifted his desire-filled gaze to my mouth, watching me provocatively play with his thumb ~ licking, sucking, biting.
“So soft, so sweet. My little butterfly. My beautiful Psyche.” Ash murmured as he nuzzled his face in the nape of my neck. I had found heaven. I didn’t really know what he was talking about or what he had called me, but nothing could ruin my perfect night. That was the last thought I remembered having before I drifted into a blissful sleep.”
Once we were comfortably settled with our drinks and before saying another word, Mason grabbed both sides of my face in his hands, looked into my eyes, and pulled my mouth to his. The kiss was much softer and gentler than I had expected. His lips felt like silk up against mine and his tongue teased ever so lightly as he traced my lips, requesting entrance to my mouth. I involuntarily groaned and my lips parted allowing him easy access to my complete seduction. I could feel the metal ring on his bottom lip pressed against mine and I couldn’t help but run my tongue over it. The guy oozed with pure, unadulterated sex. I was so out of my league.
I wasn’t quite sure what it was that Mason evoked in me, but I yearned for both his touch and to touch him like I didn’t think was possible. It was like my body was hungry for his, starving actually. Finally, I understood the draw towards the bad-boy image that so many girls and women could not resist. If I was Mason’s angel, he was my perfect devil.
He started laughing and shook his head. “You continue to surprise me, angel. Vibrators and trashy novels. I’m speechless.” He bent his head down and kissed my stomach, right below my belly button, and the electric charge that surged through my body triggered me to lift my hips and rub against him. He smiled, “Slow down angel, I want to take care of you. This is how I should have thanked you on Friday.” He kissed my stomach again, the second kiss a bit lower than the first. I had to physically force myself not to lift my hips again. “You just need to relax and enjoy. Let me show you how much I appreciate getting to be the first to do this.” Mason placed one last kiss on my lower abdomen before hooking his fingers onto each side of my panties and pulled them down.

Metamorphosis is a book that will have you all over the map with your emotions. I laughed (because Scarlett and Evie are hysterical), swooned, squealed in delight and cried uncontrollably. This book will play with your mind–I love this one no wait now I love that one, wait, wait I changed my mind AGAIN!!! It is a rollercoaster ride on your heart.
Scarlett is a very sheltered girl (sheltered by her parents’–this girl couldn’t do shit without your parents permission and most of the time the answer they gave her was NO) that is getting ready to leave for college. She is lucky enough to be going with her BFF Evie. The girls are avid readers, love their book boyfriends and refer to themselves as little book whores (hmm, reminds you of anyone???)
Once at college Scarlett undergoes a head-to-toe make over–the works hair, make-up, clothes, and other essential parts are given an upgrade. Having been so sheltered Evie makes a bet with Scarlett to entails picking up a different “book boyfriend” each time the venture out. Evie and the transformed Scarlett make their way to their first college party in which they go looking for their first book boyfriend type. Hmm, I wonder who they will meet–the preppy, the rocker, the millionaire, the bad boy, the pretty boy, etc. etc.
Now that Scarlett has gotten a taste of freedom and boys she continues to mingle and meet new boys–they just seem to fall at her feet. She has so many she doesn’t know what to do with them–I know, I know!! This is where your teams come in–your two main book boyfriends Ash and Mason. She balances them for most of the book quite nicely (I wish I could say that for myself) but eventually she gets all tangled up in emotions and feelings and has to think and decide things. While she is contemplating her men and being all “la la la I have two hot men…oh so awesome la la la” this happens BOOM!!!!!!!! WTF! OMG!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!! And then I am hysterical (someone bring me a HUGE box of tissues!!!) Why? Not telling you. But this is life changing for Scarlett and she the things she thought mattered in life suddenly don’t and it’s all a bit too much for her.
Favorite quotes and excerpts from the book:
“I’m surprised that my dad stayed inside my mom long enough to ensure my conception to be quite honest.”
“That’s just the thing, I love so many of our book boyfriends, ALL of them actually…”
“We really are little book whores, aren’t we?”
“I needed to take baby steps before I found myself blindfolded and restrained to a cross on a wall trying to remember my safe word, while anticipating the crack of the whip across my skin.”
“I’m pretty sure everyone in the building heard my pleas for her to stop, but she ignored my requests and just kept on manhandling my vagina and ass.”

Author Erin Noelle pays a bit of homage to some great books and book boyfriends in this book. I found the whole bit about the book boyfriends hysterical and sooooooo relatable.–especially the “ultimates”! OMG, you will be shaking your head yes and laughing to yourself because you know we all thought the same thing!! I was so caught up in this book and lived it for a few days. You might need to self-medicate so have some wine on hand. Erin did a fantastic job with sucking me into the story of Scarlett and I cheered her one while she finally got to experience life and then I cried with and for her when her life takes an abrupt turn–like ugly cry where you can’t see or breathe and looking then I was around the room for someone to tell me why this happened. Oh, then there is the family going “Um, it’s only a book!” They so don’t understand!!
Be brave go read this book and then tell me what team you are on! #TeamAsh #TeamMason or #TeamConfused <—that’s me confused!! Good thing there is a sequel coming out this summer called Ambrosia. I can’t wait!!! 🙂
