I’ve waited years for my drop-dead sexy boss, Tristan Hunter, to notice me as something other than his right-hand gal. But though his dog is deeply in love with me, Tristan and I seem doomed to the friend zone.
Until the night we kiss…
It’s all a ruse, of course–our make-out session is for the benefit of the two heartbreakers who dumped us–but very real sparks fly when his lips meet mine.
At least…they’re real for me.

She’s my employee, one of my best friends, my dog Luke’s not-so-secret crush, and totally off-limits.
So why am I suddenly unable to think of anything but Zoey Childers?
Two days into our fake engagement and I’m dying to take her to bed and show her just how real the heat could be between us. But crossing that line wouldn’t just be borderline unethical–it could be lethal to our friendship.
Zoey isn’t a casual fling kind of girl, and after the way things ended with my ex, I don’t trust my instincts when it comes to love.
I should call off this fake engagement before somebody gets hurt, but how to say “no” to something real with Zoey when every bone in my body is dying to say “yes”?
The Heartbreaker is a sexy, swoony STANDALONE romance

Though it has only been a short time since I read book two in Lili Valente’s Hunter Brothers series, I really missed how fun and charming they are. But it took merely a moment after beginning to read The Heartbreaker to be completely immersed back into their world.

Tristan and Zoey have always shared a deep connection ever since they started working together. However, in his eyes it was merely based on friendship. Zoey on the other hand has been in love with Tristan from the moment they met. When their ex’s unexpectedly return to town, Tristan and Zoey agree to put on a display of affection pretending to be madly in love just to prove that their hearts are no longer broken. Because that’s what friends are for, right? And it all starts with one hot and steamy kiss. But from the moment their lips meet, the passion begins to swirl inside of Tristan making him realize there is so much more to their connection than merely friendship. As their charade grows, so does Tristan and Zoey’s love making their worlds begin to flip from merely friendship too much, much more.

I love the way Lili Valente’s stories seem to effortlessly unfold on the pages before me. They always have a way of completely capturing my attention leaving her characters flitting through my mind not only while I’m in the middle of their story, but even after I’ve finished the book. Ms. Valente has a magical way of capturing love and romance like a genie in a bottle releasing it to her readers in a way that captivates their souls.

Although The Heartbreaker is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone, but once you get a taste of one Hunter brother, you’ll definitely want to go back and meet them all. Each story is replete with such smart and comical bantering as well as hot and steamy moments of passion, I’m confident that they will draw you in very quickly just as they did me which make me fall in love all over again.

Lili Valente has slept under the stars in Greece, eaten dinner at midnight with French men who couldn’t be trusted to keep their mouths on their food, and walked alone through Munich’s red light district after dark and lived to tell the tale.  These days you can find her writing in a tent beside the sea, drinking coconut water and thinking delightfully dirty thoughts.
